Words come from the Orchard Street Long List by Sam Schlinkert (github.com/sts10/orchard-street-wordlists, CC BY-SA 4.0): 17,576 common English words, built so that words run together can only be read one way. The count assumes the attacker has the same list and knows these rules, so it measures only the random choices. Each extra bit doubles the guessing: around 60 is enough for an ordinary account and past 90 no machine that exists can work through them. Numbers and symbols go strictly inside a word and are counted as if every word were the shortest on the list, so the true figure is a little higher. Guessing times assume a trillion (1012) guesses a second and half of them on average.
