starts with the sound

Sound comes from your browser's Web Audio engine: an oscillator for tones and sweeps, and eight seconds of generated noise on a loop. Every start, stop and change glides over about 30 milliseconds, so nothing clicks. "Evenly by ear" is a logarithmic sweep and "evenly by Hz" a linear one. Pink noise is white noise filtered to fall by 3 dB each octave, so every octave carries the same power. Level is in dB below full scale, peak for waves and average for noise; the volume slider is squared, which is closer to how loudness is heard. Square and saw waves are played at half and 60% level. Wavelength is in air at 20 °C. The settings live after the # in the address, which a browser never sends anywhere.
